Flowers should be a part of every occasion
January is a stark and sober contrast to the holiday season. When all of the decorations come down and the Christmas tree has been cast to the curb, the house feels a little bare and cold. Those feelings prompted me to welcome spring early by hosting a book-signing party, honoring my sister on her first publication. I adorned my house with white tulips and spray roses, purple stock and Asiatic lilies. The flowers looked as beautiful as they smelled. My guests had a great time visiting with one another and nibbling from the buffet. With the holiday rush behind them, they felt no pressing matters vying for their time and attention.
Take the chill off by gathering your friends for a mid-winter dinner party. Warm their hearts and souls with earthy food, spring flowers and your unique blend of hospitality.
